Years ago my niece was received a head injury in a boating accident, and when we got to St. E's ER, Dr. Shrontz was called. For weeks I watched him care for her, and her family. He was impressive, and encouraging even when there was not much hope. Today, she is married and just became a first time mom, and most people do not notice the remaining effects of her injury. My family always considered him the best physician possible.

My sympathy to his family. You will be in my prayers in the days ahead, as you learn to live without this fine man.

When I first met Dr. Shrontz, I had been suffering with severe low back pain and sciatica for over 3 years. I had been to a very prominent orthopedic surgeon in Port Arthur who offered me no compassion and no hope of any kind of quick recovery. Then I met Dr. Shrontz. Within 5 seconds of looking at my MRI, he simply said, "we can fix this." And he did. To someone who was having back surgery at the age of 24, it was truly a blessing to have someone like Dr. Shrontz in my corner. He always fought for the best interests of his patients and took a genuine interest in their lives--both before and after surgery. I can honestly say I've never met a more gifted physician, surgeon, or overall human being. Your family are in my prayers!

A fine physician, a great neurosurgeon and a very down to earth person. He always stop to say hello to the staff in the ICU whenever he comes by. About 2 years ago I had severe back pain and was always limping and he came by the ICU and he said to me, "Dorrell, I am tired of seeing you in such pain, why don't you come by my office so I can see you". Well I did go by his office and he recommended surgery but I was scared and he did a trial of medication which did not work. Eventually I had to have surgery and today I am pain free and I am so grateful for what he has done for me. Today I send my sympathies to his wife, children and all of his families just to let you know that your loss is my loss as well as the community. May God comfort and grant you peace.

Never there will be a physician or person like Dr. Carl Shrontz. He was kind, considerate, compassionate, and cared for his patients. He never failed to speak to everyone and brightened everyones day. Nothing or no one was beneath him, he would help the staff with nursing care, and would have crawfish boils at his home, everyone would be invited, he treated everyone with respect and kindness. His sense of humor had us all rolling with laughter, we all loved him dearly, and we are so deeply saddened, for he will be missed. Our prayers go out to Laurel and his daughters, may God bless you during this difficult time. We love you and are here for you.

I would more than likely be in a wheelchair if wasn't for the skills of Dr. Shrontz. He operated on me twice, the last in July of 2008, he wheeled me from pre-op to the operating room himself, talking all the way. He had recently had surgery himself, but you would never had known. No complaining, just business as usual. We've not only lost our Dr., but also a friend. He was not only a gifted surgeon, but a good man too. He will be missed and heaven is a brighter place. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, he will be deeply missed.

To Dr. Shrontze's Family,
I'm so sadden to hear of a lost of a man with "healing hands from The Lord, cause that's just what he had. When no one could help me & i went to Dr. Chavis i was told no amount of surgery or any doctor could help me. I thank God i'm a pushy person. I called Dr. Shrontze's office Michelle called me back & i went in & from there he took control of my severe pain, he said just tell me when you want to have surgery cause nothing else will help you but surgery & that was praise to my ears from what i was told by another doctor so on Nov. 18. 2009 i had surgery & he released me on Jan. 4,2010. The only thing we didn't get a chance to do was my back surgery. He did back surgery on our mother 6 yrs. ago is how he was brought into our life. We couldn't have been so happy to meet such a warm dedicated, compassionate God filled man & doctor. Dr. Shrontze & my husband Gilbert talked horses cause he have some well bloodline horses in cutting he loved his horses as well as his patients. Our heart goes out to his family & thank God for blessing all whom lives he had touched he will truly be missed. May God bless & welcome that wonderful Sparrow with healing hands home through those wonderful pearly gates. God Bless You Dr. Shrontze i appreciate all you did for me. Again Thanks.
Gilbert & Trudy Jones Simien
