Dr. Shrontz operated on my Mom twice. I was impressed by his caring, compassion and great outlook on life. I've never met another doctor like him. He was truly a one-of-a-kind who I am sure will be missed by everyone who knew him.

I took a lot of surgical x-rays for Dr. Shrontz, and he was not only a fine surgeon but also a great person to work with. He was nearly unrivaled in both his surgical skill and patient compassion. Dr. Shrontz will be missed by many.

There has been such a great loss in our community. Our prayers are with you and your family. Dr. Shrontz hired me 12 years ago and he was the photographer at my wedding, shortly after being thrown from a horse. I will never forget his love and compassion for people. He was a great physician and now is walking with the greatest physician.

I only knew Carl through Rachael; however, I feel as though I have known him forever! Rachael has shared so many wonderful stories of things that she and her dad have done! He must have been a wonderful father to his girls! Rachael....I love you and my thoughts are with you and your family at this time.....Love, Linda Bishop (Brad's family)

Dr Shrontz introduced me to the human side of medicine. While he was operating on a meningioma in my fathers brain I was in the waiting room keeping vigil with the rest of my family and reading a book to keep my mind off of the surgery. I knew everything would be okay when I heard "that must be some book!" and looked up to see Dr Shrontz's familiar grin. He was a man of warmth and wit and he never left me without teaching me something. My prayers are with you and your family.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shrontz since 1992. He operated on my back three times, and if it was not for him and his surgical skill, I would probably not be walking today. I saw him most recently in October of '09, and his care for his patients and optimistic outlook will stay with me forever. I am so sad that he has left this life, but I know that Heaven is a much happier place with him in it. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, two daughters, and his assistant, Michele, whom I also got to know everytime I was in his office.

I first met Carl when I sang in the choir of St. Marks Church while attending Lamar University. Many a time I would laugh at his jokes while trying to sing and keep a straight face. The most important time in my life was when my son Mark Kissel had a head injury and we went and saw Carl and on the day of the surgery he saved my son's life and I am forever grateful. A star is shining in Heaven and my love and prayers go to Laura and the girls.
