Jean, I did not know about Roy's death until I saw it just today in some papers I was discarding. I am surprised Janett didn't let me know. I lost my husband, Bob, on Oct. 12, 2008 of leukemia at M.D. Anderson Hospital and I am still having trouble dealing with my grief.
If I can do anything for you or if you just want to talk, please let me know.
God Bless you and your family.

What an honor and a privilege it was to have known Roy. We met on the property in Town Bluff when I was doing some oil leasing in 1996. From that experience we hit it off pretty well. I have a framed picture taken of us in 2003 on the farm in Town Bluff and have had it in my office all these years. It reminds me what is important in life. Relationships. We really enjoyed each others company and talking about the oil business – particularly around the Town Bluff area. He was consistent in his loyalty and communication. Every couple of months he would call or I’d call him and just chat from oil to the weather, family or his business activities. More than anything else he wanted a hole poked on his property. Eventually part of his land was involved with a well and boy was he happy. He had more land for development, but no other well was drilled on his land. When he was able he just loved driving around the roads and visiting the hands on the Ergon Company drilling rigs. They were friendly and always enjoyed his company too. Boy could Roy laugh! From the gut. I loved it. We shared a lot of those times too. I’ll miss Roy. My wife Brenda and my 5 year old Anna will miss Roy too. We loved our family visits and Roy would light up when he would see Anna, “Boy is that girl getting big! What on earth are you feeding her?” Jean, Roy and my family would sit in the afternoon at their house and I’d enjoy tipping a cup of old rock gut scotch at the kitchen table. Well, Roy and Jean, here is a toast to two people who really blessed our lives with some hospitality that Texans are known for. I’ll miss you. God bless you Roy. God bless you Jean with a peace knowing all is well. You can count on us for love and support.
