Derrill C. Thompson

The veterans of U.S. Navy Task Unit 77.4.3., including Derrill Thompson, deserve a special salute for their special brand of selflessness and gallantry, exhibited so magnificently on October 25, 1944. I am sorry to learn of Mr. Thompson's passing and extend my condolences to his family.

Mel, my heart goes out to you and your family. I've heard you speak of your father and know he was a really special man. The video is a beautiful tribute, and the pride and happiness in his life shows in the faces of your family. So glad you have such wonderful memories to live on in your heart.
