Although we never "officially" met Nick, certainly knew who he was and have always felt grateful to you, Jim, and all the Vratis family for all you've done for the Peninsula over the years. We are so sorry for your loss and know Nick will be greatly missed. Bill & Brenda Smith (Emerald 2 since 1974)

So very sorry to learn of the loss of Nick Vratis. I remember the 70's when we would stop at the Gaslight on the way home from Galveston and visit with Nick. He would always bring out the raw oysters for us to try. The kids loved them, and he would get a kick out of them. Sometimes we would order crawfish and one of the kids loved to suck the heads, and Nick thought that was amazing. Prayers go out to the Vratis family as Nick will be truly missed.

What a kind and gentle man Mr. Vratis I will always remember him stopping by to say hello as he walked the sub division. Also he made a wonderful garden the last few summers which I new he enjoyed. God Bless Him and his Family during these difficult times.
