Thyra & I were cousins, both the same age, who lost touch with each other until another cousin, Laura McNeil Burns, rediscovered her only months ago. We had only corresponded a couple of times & I was looking forward to being able to meet again after so many years. I had asked her for some recipes to put in a book I'm writing & she sent me 2 from her mother, Beula Humphrey. I feel a great loss at just now finding my cousin after so long & losing her so soon. I never met her daughter, of course, but would love to get to know more about them all, including Thyra.

Sherry & Jo, your Mother was the rock for my Mother (Mary Kathryn) for many, many years. They really enjoyed visiting and telling stories from years past. I totally benefitted from their relationship. Aunt Thyra never forgot my birthday and I received a card with some "homemade" creativity written or drawn or crafted, and included a scripture. I loved her as much as she loved my grandmother Eunice and my Mother Mary Kathryn, and as she loved me. She has been present with the Lord and she can hear well, see perfectly, and has no pain. God Bless all who loved her and will miss her deeply.

Aunt Thyra was a hero in my life and was an inspiration to many people. From Spanky the dog, to the huge swing set in the back yard, crafts for children and adults, the barbie doll house, to the old cash register we use to play store on, but most of all great hugs! Many fond memories of Uncle Mickey adding numbers and never being able to make him "mess up" to providing me with a dress on my first Valentine banquet when I was 13. I remember how special she made everyone feel and the love for God and country. Thank you and if I can touch the hem of your garment to be like you Aunt Thyra it would be an honor. I will keep working on that. We love you all dearly. Sheryl

I want you both to know that I am so very sorry for your loss. I am also so very sorry that I will not be able to attend the service. Aunt Thyra will always hold a special place in my heart. God Bless You All.
