I met Joan in 1966 when we moved to California. I baby-sat Kelly and Stacy when they were just toddlers. She became my aunt when she and Uncle Edmund married and we all became one big family. She fit right in with our 'crazy' bunch! (It takes one to know what I mean, or maybe not)??
I started wearing her clothes when I was 14, and even as an adult when I'd visit Beaumont I couldn't wait to raid her closet!! She would pull things out of everywhere for me to try on, shoes and jewelry included! One time when I was visiting and wearing one of her outfits Uncle Edmund thought I was Joan from behind. We all had to laugh!
I had so much fun with Joanie (that's what Jack always called her). Sometime after Uncle Edmund passed away and I was still living in Austin, she rented a Mustang convertible and drove with the top down all the way! We had a blast at Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels (just the two of us) and at an outdoor concert in Austin, again in the Mustang with the top down! I am so thankful for these, and so many more memories than I can count.
Joan was my aunt, my friend and "sister" and she will always hold a special place in my heart.
My love goes out to all of my family who will be missing her too. Love to all, Randi

To The Luquette Family ~
I'm so very sorry about Joan's passing. She was a wonderful & sweet person and I appreciated how she treated myself & children with kindness always. Her kindness & sweet spirit will never be forgotten or the memories.
I'm sad, but I think about those loved ones who are waiting for her and will be so happy to be reunited once again. Jewel, Edmund, C.J., Beverly, Katherine & David Earl are planning that Luquette Party for her. And as always, she will have that beautiful smile when she greets them.
May God Bless each of you.
Pat

To the Luquette Family:
I am so saddened to hear about the loss of Joan who was such a dear, sweet person and devoted mother of such a combined large family. Will always remember her everlasting devotion to all of her family and her special talents of homemaking and skills of sewing.
May God Bless all of you during this difficult time and find comfort of peace.
