Dear Betty and Family, We went to school in China and Van was a grade ahead of me. He was one of the most honery kids I know. We all were that way . Mr. Alexander paddled us one time for riding donkeys at the China Gym. I was in the bunch and to this day we considered it a badge of honor to get the Red Bull. May Jesus wrap him in his Loving Arms.

I was a neighbor of Van's for a short period of time at the Villas. I just visited with him last Thursday. He never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation. We were both Navy and Nam Veterans and became friends very quickly. He will certainly be missed. RIP Van!

I wish I could recall what Van would tell me or anyone when I would tell him that he was looking good. It was something only Van could come up with. Van and my brother Terrell were closest of friends and the whole family was like brothers and sisters to us. Van had come by the office a couple months or so ago just to visit and see how the my family was doing after losing my son two years ago. Van, at 73 you still looked like this picture...... Our condolences to Betty and her family. Van will surely be missed by anyone that knew him.... Rest in Peace Van.

I have only known " Cowboy " the last 4 years or so. He joined our twice a month poker game in Groves at that time. Like the rest of poker crew he really enjoyed playing cards. He was a joy to be around with his humor and stories and will be truly missed.
