Sister, I am really lost here. When I think of you gone, I have a cold emptyness enter my chest. I look at your picture and think of all the phone conversations we had about absolutely NOTHING. You were my emotional support and I yours.
It's times like these that I would turn to you for comfort. When you were on life support, they kept you sedated and unconscious so your lungs would hopefully heal and breath again on your own.
I was so selfish because I wanted them to wake you so that I could say bye to my big sister. Your smile and your voice I will miss until I am there with you.
I love you so much, Kathy. Please forgive me for not believing your were as ill as you said. I just could never face my big sister being ill.
Love you, Robert

Sweet, sweet Kathy, you will be missed beyond measure . . . . your presence would fill a room with joy and happiness every time you entered. It's not our place to question why but I guess the good Lord needed you more . . . my heart breaks for your children, grandchildren, husband, and the friends and family you are leaving behind . . . surely a void NO one will ever be able to fill. Seems like I'm losing all my little "cheerleader" friends . . . tell LaDean hello for me!! Rest easy my precious friend. Gone but never, ever forgotten!! Until we meet again!! Love you!!! My prayers go out to Kathy's family and many friends. Kathy was such a natural in every day life. Though I have not seen her in many years, it really does seem like it was not that long ago when we were all growing up in Lumberton doing what teenage girls do and Kathy was always so happy at whatever she was doing and/or where she was going. Her smile was so infectious. When she smiled, we smiled - and I will always remember her beautiful natural smile. I have many sweet memories of Kathy. May God help her family through this difficult time. Rest in peace Kathy. You were loved by so many.

I am in total shock. I did not know Kathy's family, but I went to and graduated from nursing school with Kathy. She was so proud of her children and spoke of them quite often. Our nursing class graduated, and then regretfully everyone just drifted apart. She was a very sweet and person and had lots of compassion for her patients. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family. I am so very sorry for your loss.
