I met Gene at Mobil when I was told to see the "Big Guy in the red hat". He was "Big" in so many ways. I trained with him and learned to fight the fires we had back then. That was 38 years ago and my admiration of him has not dimmed any at all. The world is not as good a place with his passing. I will always appreciate the way he respected his people. My condolences to you the family of a very special "Big Guy".

Dear Bill And Mary, We hope comfort finds you. Mr. Gene is home now and suffers no longer. He is at peace and I wish the same for you as time moves you from loss to understanding. We have and will continue to pray for you and all friends and family and may great memories fill the void you have now.

Your friends Mike & Letha

Papa Gene will be missed by many! I have so many memories of him and my father, at YMBL Little League and many of fishing trips. His smile could light up a room.
My prayers are with the entire family.

We were so sorry to hear this news. Gene and my mother Jackie were good friends and worked together at the hospital and sang together in the senior choir. So glad that we got to know him during those last few weeks of mothers life. He and my husband swapped Mobil Oil stories. We will be thinking of you all.

Bill, Butch, Linda & family members,

So sorry to hear about Gene passing. I have some very fond memories of your parents. They were special, caring & very kind people. Remember that our loss is Heaven's gain. Hang on to your memories as we march into Eternity. It speaks volumes that Gene left this earth with a smile on his face. I pray that you all are Blessed and that this event in life will draw everyone closer together - because family matters. PS: I miss your Grandmother's cooking also.

Regards, Greg Wallace

I knew Gene while working together at Broussard's Mortuary. I enjoyed knowing Gene and he was always a blessing to be around. His attitude was kind and his acceptance and dedication to his work was always a good example to those of us who worked with him. He will be missed and I will keep him in my prayers.
