Deepest condolences to the Akbari family. Ike was a mentor to me for many years from the late 80's through the 90's. He was one of the most honorable persons I've ever known. He was a friend to everyone, always offering advice and words of wisdom.

Ike and I had a long business history. I am a retired CPA from a local CPA firm. Ike was always courageous and acted in good humor. He was smart, organized and well received. Our community was lucky to have him as an innovator and advocate.

Dear Cheryl, Chris and Crystal: I had the privilege of working with and for your dad 22 years with the Apartment Association of Southeast Texas. He served locally as an Owner member and President. He also served at the Texas Apartment Association on the Affordable Housing Task Force, Political Action Committee and the Small Owners Council and on the board of the Homebuilders Association. Ike was a very professional man who tried to help others less fortunate and provide quality housing. He never excepted the word "no". He found a way to make it work for the best of all concerned. He will be missed, but not forgotten. God bless you at this very difficult time.
