Over the past two years, I was lucky enough to reconnect with members of the Decuir family I had not seen in years. I met with Paul, Mabel, and Chris and spoke of family long past and memories shared. They invited me to dinner and we shared old family photos. I went back and showed Paul a book written about the Decuir family and talk of old stories. I am grateful God gave me the chance to get to know him again before he passed. He was a great host and trusted member of the family. He will be missed. I pray for his children and siblings. I know they will feel the loss the most.

Adios to my great friend and challenger of souls. He was truly a person that never met a stranger and righted the wrongs as often as possible. He was a modern day Zorro, fighting for truth and justice in the American way. I will miss our challenging conversations and the good times we had.
