Willard, Laurie, Clint and family,
Such wisdom and leadership apportioned into one amazing woman. Such a trail blazer! Charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, founding member of the Beaumont Heritage Society, and don't forget first woman in Beaumont to serve on a Grand Jury (though here my memory leaves me and I don't remember if she actually was first woman to lead a Beaumont Grand Jury), and one of the first ombudsmen (or women) for BISD. So much of Beaumont was preserved by her actions and leadership. I'm tempted to say she was ahead of her time for accomplishments, starting long before the Women's Movement. But then I think that's rather the point. She was inimitable and one of a kind, yet at the same time there are people like Mildred who come along once in awhile and make a true positive difference in their communities through the way they live their lives. She will be missed by many.

My sincere condolences to the entire family. I have many fond memories of practicing with "The Variations" at the Hall home back in the '60's. Mrs. Hall was always kind and patient in spite of the noise we bombarded her with. I am very sorry for your loss. --Bill Carswell

Laurie, my deepest sympathy to you for the loss of your mother. I know you two were very close and I know you must have a big hole in your heart right now. Time will help heal the pain. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing Mildred during my time in Beaumont. She was a grand lady.

Mildred was admired and respected by so many whose deserving community projects she supported, encouraged, and "dug in her heels" to help make happen. So many of us will miss just knowing she is there. A steel magnolia when called for, the best phrase I can think of to describe Mildred is, "What a lady."
