Shirley: Although we didn't see either one of you since I left the Courthouse, I remember all of the good times we once had. Hal was a person who could make you laugh without trying. I know he is in a special place. He will be greatly missed by everyone he came in contact with. Love to you and your family.

Dear Shirley, Bryan & Kevin,

I am truly sorry for your loss, may God embrace each of you and carry you through this time of sorrow. Since, I didn't know him very well, except for conversing with him a few times when he dropped by the office waiting to see Bryan or on his way to court, you could tell that he was witty and a good man,.. a man to respect.
So many lovely remembrances have been entered here of his caliber.

So surprised by this news, but so grateful for Hal's service, his example and his friendship to all of us in the Bar. Thank you Laine family for sharing Hal with us. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Shirley, Brian, Kevin and family,
We are without adequate words to express our sympathies to you. Hal was a pleasure to be around, in the courtroom and out. He always had a smile and loved to laugh and tell a joke. His legacy is that of a true gentleman lawyer who always shot straight and sought the truth. May he rest in peace.

Rest in peace Harold "Hal" J. Laine, Jr. Thank you for believing in a high school graduate/college student in 1983, and teaching me everything about legal procedures and the law. I learned so much from you. I can honestly say after 30 years of working in the legal field you truly inspired me.

I just received notice of Hal's passing. It is with great sympathy and respect that I wish his family my condolences.

He was the consummate professional and a friend. Rest in peace, my friend.
