In the last act of his life, Cecil was a wonderful colleague and teacher in the English department at Lamar University. He tirelessly advocated for innovations in the classroom and continued to perfect his craft year after year. He was a true professional. He was also a wonderful friend. Personally, he was one of my favorite people at Lamar. He went out of his was to make me feel welcomed and respected. We have lost a wonderful colleague and teacher.
