Carl K Gentry

Long before they married the Colvin sisters, Carl and Merlin were boyhood pals. They were more like brothers than best friends. Even though Carl was raising a family in South Texas and Merlin raising his in El Paso, the bond was never broken. At least once a year, but usually twice, the two families either went south or west to visit each other; what powerful memories still endure.
Carl will be remembered as a best friend and a well loved uncle. May he rest peacefully in Heaven with Margaret, Lina, and his parents.

Poppa C you came in to our lives like a whirl wind. It was short and sweet, you left such an impact on everyone you met. I thank God everyday that you found my momma. That was a true love story. I have read the book of poems you wrote to her and I know she was your soul mate. I loved how you sang "Good-Morning Beautiful every morning to her since 11/23/10. I watched her take care of you and never leaver your side when you were sick. Most people don't find their soul mates in this life time I am so happy both of you found yours. We will see you soon sweet sweet soul and oh what a glorious day that will be. Your daughter Dana

You were like a Dad to me and taught me everything I know. From mechanics to ranching to being a great husband and father. You are reunited with Hon and the ones you loved most. I know that you are in a much better place and pain free. You are greatly missed and will forever remain in our hearts. I'll always be your "Charlie Brown", I'll see you soon when the Good Lord is ready.

Let me tell you one thing about Carl. He is the smartest man I have ever met. He can do any and everything. I asked him once "How did you know how to do that?" he said well I just thought about it for a second. Carl you are going to be missed so much around here! I am thankful I was able to spend a few short moments with you. Helping you build that porch and hanging out with you at the beach are memories I will hold near to the heart. Its crazy you know. At that time I never would have thought the lord was trying to tell me something through your voice...... Hey Carl we will see you later.
