I have such fond memories of our visits with Hugh/Granddad. I can't picture him with anything but a big smile on his face.

My thoughts are often with your family, and this is especially true right now.

Just want all of you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will always cherish fond memories of family visits together at Christmas time with all of you. Hugh was such a wonderful person and the memorial service was a beautiful tribute to a man of such integrity and honor. My regrets in not being able to visit with all of you at this time. May God bless all of you with His comforting peace.

Anna, Randy, Rick and Beth - I was so sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. He was definitely a great man. I will always remember the wonderful times we all shared together at various Christmas and Thanksgiving celebrations. And of course, the various trips to the beach are also a highlight of my (long ago) youth.

Per your request, Marissa and I will be making a donation to the Silsbee Public Library in memory of Hugh.

Just learned tonight that Hugh passed away. We cannot begin to tell you how sorry we are to hear this. Hugh was one of the nicest people we have ever known. We have so many memories with the two of you - particuarly with Silsbee Little Theater - whatever would the theater have done without him these last many, many years.

You and your family are certainly in our thoughts at this time.

Anna & family - So sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. He will be greatly missed! Such a good and honorable man. What a blessing he has been to so many. This life, with its pain and suffering, could no longer hold him, and praise Jesus, death has no hold on Hugh either. See you in Heaven, Hugh!

I am so sorry to hear this. Mr. Smith was such a good man. I have never met anyone so patient. My condolences go out to Ricky, Randy and Beth and Ms. Anna Smith, all of whom I haven't seen in a while, but whom I still hold close in my heart. Mr. Smith will be missed by many. Love.
