Yes, indeed... I remember Bob's face well...one of the many dedicated mainstays in the greatly blessed and influential church--First Baptist Church of Beaumont...along with Emogene Evans, Ward McCurtain, Burt and Mary Sandefer--my parents, the Clampitts, the Sloanes and so many others greatly endowed with the Holy Spirit's indwelling. Peace and joy unto you, his family.

Dearest Claire, We were saddened to learn of Bob's passing when I opened my computer today. He was such a lovely man and a willing chauffeur for your lady friends on evening outings to the KC for catfish, etc. I regret we were not with you at the time of his services, but please know that we hold all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Ann and Stephen, we know how much you will miss him. Stephen, I know you were very close--I am sharing this news with Elizabeth today and I know she will be thinking of you and praying for all of you. How blessed you were to have such a fine man in your lives. Mary Beth and Gerald Cloninger

Claire, Tom, and family - An unchangeable work schedule has made my presence at the services for Bob impossible. I regret it. Beth and I send our condolences. 67 years of marriage is a source of blessings, a sign of God's presence. I hope happy memories outnumber any sad ones, and that he joins the Communion of Saints, that great cloud of witnesses to the love and mercy of God. -Charlie Balsam

Dear Claire, Please know that my prayers are with you and your family as you mourn and celebrate Bob. I do not know how many years I have known you all, but many...first in Sierra Club and then birding at Sabine Woods. Yes, I agree with many. Bob was the epitome of a truly kind man. We all were blessed to have had him in our lives. May you and yours feel God's presence during this time. Blessings, Linda

Dear, sweet, Collier family, esp Claire, Anne, Stephen and Kyle, I met Bob when I served on his every-other-Monday-morning teller committee. How I admired his quiet efficiency and attention to detail. And how I loved the weeks we received satsumas!! Later I found out about his biking and hiking, and today I read of his birding, military service, that he taught SS and sang, and had many other interests. I'm not surprised to learn of these: he was a true intelligent Renaissance man. Claire, everyone knows your sweet smile. Anne, each time I volunteered with you was a pleasure. Stephen and Kyle, thank you for being Daniel's friend. He had just mentioned you last week. You've all been a treasure to our family. "Blessed to the Lord is the death of His Saints", but many prayers and thoughts and much love and shared loss are with you here on earth during the coming days.

I will never forget this wonderful, honorable gentleman, gentle man. Every time I fix the recipes that he and Claire shared with us at the Golden Triangle Audubon Society, I will have a twinkle in my eye of fond remembrance. May he rest in peace, and Claire and family remain strong, Bob was such a positive influence in many lives, we are all blessed for knowing him.

We are so saddened to hear about Bob. What a quintessential southern gentleman he was; always gracious, friendly and smiling. Our prayers are with your whole family.
