Richard "Larry" Shimek

We missed you at our last FHS class reunion in October Larry--the 'big 50th', and I know you especially wanted to go to that one!!! When I visited you in the hospital a few weeks ago, you told me how much you had enjoyed seeing all the Facebook reunion pictures that everyone had posted, and that you were sure gonna "try your best" to make the next one!!! Well one day ALL of our class will have a joyous reunion in Heaven....and you'll definitely be there for that one! Deepest sympathy and prayers going out to the Shimek family in their time of sorrow..

I grew up with Larry. He lived just down the street from me. I haven't seen him forever, but am much saddened to learn of his death. He was a good guy, and a good friend.

Larry was a good friend in High School. I spent a lot of time at his house. As life goes, later we only saw one another at reunions. Was looking for him at our last one, but I know now why he couldn't make it. My heart is sad as always, when the world loses a good person. We had some good times, laughs, and I talked him into going out for football. He was a good receiver, had sure hands. Most of all he was a down-to-earth, good man. May God bless him!
