Dr. Baine was my troop 213 scoutmaster in the mid to late 80's. He was the best scoutmaster ever. He always carried his pipe around and stressed to us scouts to never pick up that bad habit. He was an awesome man and I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Dr. Baine was my Scoutmaster in Troop "Lucky" 213 in the late 1970's and early 1980's until I moved with my family to Mississippi in 1981. He was a tremendous inspiration for me. He was the first person I called the night I completed my Eagle Scout board of review in Jackson to thank him for all he had done for me. His example inspired me to become the Cubmaster and later Scoutmaster (and soon to be Venture Crew Advisor) for my church in Jackson, and believe me, there are several hundred boys in central Mississippi who know who Dr. Baine is and the life lessons he taught. About 10 years ago I took my wife and two sons to Galveston for Spring Break to show them where I vacationed as a kid. On the way back I gave them a tour of Beaumont, including our Scout Hut by the park and Dr. Baine's house, and Dr. Baine was cutting the front yard when we drove by. So we stopped. He had his ever-present smile the whole time he talked with my boys about their own Scouting experiences. My wife was in tears - literally - after she finally got to meet the man I had talked so much about over the years. I am so thankful for those 15 minutes. I hope Dr. Baine to knows that over the last 11 years, he has had a hand in at least 50 (if not more) boys earning their Eagle Scout rank in Jackson, Mississippi. I wish I had known of his passing last November, as I would have made every effort to pay my respects. But I want Mrs. Baine, Greg, Damon, Stephen and the whole family to know that I have no doubt that he was greeted in Heaven by Jesus Christ with open arms, followed closely behind by Baden-Powell. The world will never know how many peoples' lives were guided in the right direction because of Dr. Baine.

Dr. Baine was my dentist for many years. We didn't have much money; so being the man he was, he allowed my mom to pay $10 per month for my nine fillings. When the time came for me to graduate, and I needed a letter for a scholarship, he wrote the most eloquent letter. I have not lived in Beaumont for a number of years, but he left a lasting impression on my life. His kindness, charity and professionalism will not be forgotten.

Dr. Baine had such an impact and influence on my life. Without him caring so much for me when I was growing up, I would have probably landed in the wrong path. He was such a caring man and never veered away from his strong values of God and Country. He will be sorely missed by all; and it is a sad day to see such a strong patriot pass away. But, he did pass on his values to his wonderful children, and they will continue to carry his legend forward into the future.

Dr. Baine was a inspiration to so many young people. My children loved the attention he showed them every Sunday morning.
May God rest his soul and may his memory be eternal. Lynda George/White

I didn't have the pleasure of personally knowing Dr. Bain nor the pleasure of being in Troop 13....but as a Boy Scout I knew of him - his leadership and teaching were known throughout the Scouting ranks in Beaumont. In fact, my troop always hated being at Camp Urland for summer camp with 13 - we knew they were the best and would win everything.

In my prayers....

Thank you Dr. Baine for all your willingness to help as our neighbor and rescuing our grandson during a traumatic early release day for a first grader. Prayers and wonderful memories to Sharon and family.

There is no greater man than one who takes the time to stoop down and help a boy...
I would not be the man I am today were it not for this great man whose spirit of service, I pray will continue to live on thru those he touched.

Uncle Gary will always be in my heart, I have so many fond memories from his stories to being my Sunday School teacher. I will miss his smiling face and happiness he brought to others. But don't forget the rope game. He made this game challenging and all who played would tear in laughter. But most of all I will miss my hugs.
