On behalf of my mother in law, Jo Imogene Hilton, we would like to express her condolences. We just learned that Iris Marie has gone to be with The Lord. I have been in Imogene's family for 34 years and can not tell you how many stories I have heard about the two of them growing up together as young girls and then young women. They remained good friends throughout their lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

So sorry to learn of this great woman leaving us but going to be with the Lord. She always offered hug and a smile to everyone close to her. The great little community of Nome will feel her absence.

We're all going to miss Mrs. Abney. She was always a second mother and mostly a friend to me growing up. I wonder if she's already started a 4-H Club in heaven.

We are so sorry for your loss.

Offering my heartfelt sympathies to the Abney family for the passing of a wonderful Christian mother and friend. I feel blessed to have benefit of so many fond memories of Ms. Iris through 4-H, Vacation Bible School, and First Baptist Church - Nome. Her departure will no doubt leave a void in the Nome community, but I'm sure Heaven just got a shade brighter!

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Abney's passing. She was such a special person to me and my family. She taught me many things as I grew up and as a parent and grandparent I have tried to instill those qualities in my family. Even though we didn't see each other often we always kept in touch with letters and Christmas cards. I will miss her grately. I know she is in Heaven dancing a jig with Mr. Abney. May God wrap you in his loving arms and give you strength and peace during this difficult time. My prayers are with you.
Dianne
