Joyce Fay Callahan

What a blessing it was to meet you. You were an inspiration to all who knew you. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace my wonderful friend. I will miss you always.

Joyce: Last year, on June 7, 2013, your dear husband John called to tell me my beloved father, James A. Brown, had been found dead in his home. I was beyond devasted. When I came home to Beaumont for his wake there was a sea of faces of the groups daddy had belonged too, then I heard it!!!---the sound of the most familiar laugh I had known since childhood--yours!!! I kew I was home and safe!!

You and John had cared for daddy took him to appointments, etc without complaints. You comforted me and my brother throught our ordeal with grace and cheer. I have known you since I was 10, I baby sat Brent and Jan, and loved to see what you have crafted next. You had decorations for every season or event--a fairyland house for all the neighbors to enjoy--but your laugh was the best of all.

You advised daddy to tell me to join the Red Hats--to live life and enjoy every adventure. Well, dear Lady I have my red hat and have planned some adventures of my own thanks to you.

Tell mom and daddy I am doing ok thanks to my brother. Heaven is ringing with the joy you scatter everywhere you go!!! Thank you God for sharing your beloved angel Joyce with so many needy soules on this earth!

Jan, I am so sad to hear about the loss of your sweet Mother. Please know that you and your Family will be in my heart and my prayers. I love you! Ida Dearbonne Brevell

My thoughts and prayers are with Joyce's family. Our Sunday School Class will not be the same without her.

Dear Jan, I am so saddened to hear about your precious Mom. I have alot of high memories at your house. Your mom was always full of laughter and such a sweet person. I am praying for you and your family. Love you my dear friend.

My heart is sad with the passing of such a very special lady. I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing Joyce for the past several years and loved her dearly. I know that she has gone to a better place and is by now, rejoicing with her old friend, Mildred. I will miss the calls that Joyce would make to me and always say, "Hello, Crafty Queen, I need some help and then I would hear that wonderful hearty laugh.
May you rest in peace sweet lady and I know you will be watching over us until we can all meet again in our red and purple.

Some of my best Red Hat Society memories include our Joyce. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I will treasure my memories of fun times with her.
