Melvin "Jiggs" Cummins

We are greatly saddened for your loss during this difficult time. Visiting Nina and Jiggs was always a pleasure to me, and they always made me feel welcome, especially when Nina served her wonderful gumbo!

To the Family:
Jiggs was my brother-in-law for 40 years and
I respected and admired him. He was a wonderful husband and caregiver. He and Nina were so
strong and resilient.
Once I told Jiggs,"I don't know how to be this age (Senior)." I shall have to take a class in Gerontology." He said, "Just look around and observe,"so I did observe he and Nina and their faith, courage, inner strength and determination was an inspiration to me.

Rest in Peace, Jiggs.

After reading your dad's obituary, I realized how much he reminded me of you and what a life well lived. Your precious memories of him will live on through your stories to your grandbabies - share them often.

How well I know that the loss of a loved one is a very difficult time and I will be praying for strength, comfort and peace for the entire family. However, knowing that our loved one is with Jesus does help comfort the heart.
