Iris Sue, or "Sue" as I called her, was my first cousin. She was born almost 6 months after I was born in Beaumont, TX. Our fathers were brothers. We spent many days together, mostly at our grandparents' house on Pine Street, right across the road from Magnolia Cemetery, those first 5 years of our lives before my Daddy was transferred to Houston with his job, and later to Atlanta,GA, and finally to Mobile, AL. Sue and I have remained close all these years, even though we didn't get to see each other much. My husband and I last visited Joe and Iris at their home in Kountze in 2009. She and I did some research on our King family tree. We talked by phone when her Mom passed away a few years back. When my Mom passed away in October, 2013, we talked. As always, Sue would say, "It will all work out." That's what she told me around the first of the year when her health had taken a turn. As always, she had a positive outlook. She loved her family. Joe was her rock and best friend. Her kids and grandkids were more special to her than any worldly possessions she had. She was a wonderful person who cared deeply about things, although she guarded her words. I'll miss you, sweet cousin! Rest in peace! Lovingly, Karen Jo
