Marty was a great friend and we liked to listen to the Kingston Trio music a lot. He already played the piano and guitar but he wanted to get closer the sound. So what did he do? He bought a banjo and learned and learned to play it in a few short months. What a guy!

Peggy, my love and prayers are with you, your children and the entire Green family. Marty was one of the rare ones. We needed more people like him.
To this day, seeing his photograph brings a smile to my face.

While growing up a lot of peopme gave up on me, Mr. Green always had faith in my abilities. He gave me many hours of his time, patience, love and sometimes a firm hand on the backside. He will always have a special place in my families heart.

So sorry to hear of Marty's passing. When I would complain about our Irish having lost a game to USC or Michigan, he would kindly remind me that he had the unique privilege of never having witnessed a winning season in his years at Notre Dame. It put everything in perspective. I will miss his kind and gentle voice.

Dearest Peggy and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Marty's death and am grieving for your family. He was way too young to leave all of you and us, but God must have needed him up there with Him in heaven-maybe there was a big case to be resolved! I wish I could be there with all your beautiful family, but I don't see that happening. Just know how much I admired him and that I am with you in my heart. Much, much love to all of you, Celia
