Raymond Barnwell

I truly believe that Raymond was an angel here on earth. He treated others with such dignity and respect and was well loved by so many. There are many former offenders of TDCJ who will always remember how he treated them when they were at a very low point in their lives. He lifted them up and encouraged them daily. He was a light in a very dark world. "Well done, my good and faithful servant!"

I love you, Ray, Jason, and Amber and am extremely sorry for your loss.

Ray, Jason, and Amber Raymond is in a better place. We're going to miss him. We all had a wonderful time over many years. Our prayers are with ya'll.

Dale said to tell you that he looked forward to seeing Raymond in heaven one of these days. Dale and I have been thinking back on our high school days. We can see you and Raymond together in the halls of Pittsburg High. We are with you in spirit during this time. We are so sorry for your lost but know that Raymond is in a better place.

It has been said that a man's character can been seen by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him. Raymond was a compassionate counselor to the incarcerated students in TDCJ. He was the rock of the Gist Unit Education Department for many years. He never knew how many lives he improved. Rest in peace.
