Leroy and family. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I can't remember a time when your family wasn't a part of our lives. I will keep you in my prayers.

Love you Gail! You were a wonderful lady to be friends with and to work with. Thank you for giving me the opportunities you did. I'll miss you and wish I would have got to say goodbye.

My journey of lifelong friendship and sisterhood with Gail Beagle began in 1983 when she and the late Congressman Henry B. Gonzalez gave me the honor and privilege of working on a legal internship on the Subcommittee on Housing and Community Development chaired by Rep. Gonzalez. The committee staff position and the opportunity to work with Gail and the Honorable Henry B. profoundly transformed the direction of my life for the better to whom I am forever grateful. Since we met Gail graciously loved and shared her life with me and my daughter Lydia Marisol (21 years) both in Washington D.C. and upon her retirement to San Antonio. We have a lifetime of fond memories together. Gail touched countless lives during her 78 years. I am forever grateful that my daughter and I are among the luckiest people in the world to have known and enjoyed Gail’s loving, joyous, and loyal friendship. Gail was our family too! We join Gail’s family and circle of friends in celebrating her astonishing life of public service to God and country and a life well-lived. Gail belongs in a Texas Hall of Fame for great Americans and unsung heroes. I hear her laughter now and see her sweet smile of satisfaction on political battles hard-fought and victories won. Gail lived life vibrantly and took great pride in the diverse Texas culture. I salute Gail’s tireless efforts and dedication over the years to securing the Henry B. Gonzalez Foundation for Inspiring Public Service. I fondly recall Gail and my 80-plus Tia Veva and I thoroughly enjoying the wonderful play about our late beloved Texas governor “Ann Richards.” Gail could talk to anyone, anytime, about anything and leave you feeling and believing you were the most incredible person doing wonderful things for your family, community, state and nation. Gail guided, empowered, created, appreciated and motivated or looked for the best in everyone around her. Lydia and I enjoyed staying at Camp Beagle with Gail over the years when we visited from Sacramento, California. Gail loved parties of all kinds and even convinced me to celebrate my 50th birthday at her lovely home with friends and family. We shall always miss Gail dearly and wished she could have finished the historical books she so much strived and desired to complete. Gail’s generous loving spirit shines brightly in us all as we live on remembering our beautiful, extraordinary, accomplished Gail and the intangible life’s gifts she so unselfishly shared with those who knew her. In deepest sympathy, Isabelle Garcia, Sacramento, CA

Gail was a loving cousin and a loyal friend (to me) throughout her life. No matter if she were
in D. C. , in San Antonio, or in Nederland, she
never forgot her family and her friends for their birthdays or for the holidays. Together, we began the first grade (in Nederland Elementary) and graduated from Nederland High School (in 1954). In between those years, side by side, we attended Sunday School classes at the First Methodist Church (now, United Methodist); took tapping and ballet classes at the Wallace School of Dance; and always encouraged and supported each other. Even when our beliefs and opinions differed, we were close enough to feel free to express our feelings to each other without losing our bond. Because of our bond and because of her kindness, her thoughtfulness, and her supportiveness, I shall always miss Gail, my cousin by birth and my faithful friend by choice.

What fond memories we have of visiting Gail with our children in Washington on a summer vacation and Gail cooked this fabulous meal for the 6 of us. We also went to visit Gail several times when she moved back to San Antonio and she always welcomed us into her home. ( I even remember Gail opening her home for my family while I was a child, for us to stay in her home while the Hemisphere took place and she was in Washington, how gracious she was)

My sincere condolences to you and your family. Revelation 21:4 make this promise, it says: " And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." What a beautiful promise, we all look forward, from our loving Creator, (Jehovah God, Psalm 83:18). May the God of peace be with you and your family.

Sincerely Yours,
Brandy Molina
