I have been out of town and just learned yesterday when I returned of Eva Joy's death. I am so sorry that I was unable to attend her service. She was a very special lady and I will always remember the wonderful visits we had. I am grateful for Some Other Place as it has brought into my life so many wonderful friends...including your mother and grandmother. She was special and I will miss her and her visits. Please know that you are in my thoughts and my prayers. We are so grateful for your designating SOP as the recipient of memorial contributions. She loved SOP and SOP loved her. May God bless.

She was so good. She made my brother happy and I loved her like a sister.Seems like she was always a part of our family. I will miss her forever. Sorry I am so far away.

Peace and love to all of you during this sad time. Aunt Eva Joy will be missed! However, it is a blessing to know that she is now joined with the Lord and our precious Uncle Shot.
Much Love, Steph

Aunt Eva Joy was always unfailingly kind to me. The only mean thing she ever did to me was when she made me wash dishes at the beach when all of the boys got to go crabbing. (! Now that I know how miserably hot crabbing is, I forgive her.... ) She was a good friend to my Mother and Father and always at the hospital when either of them were ill. Mother said repeatedly that she was so smart, she should have been a physician!
My sympathy and love to both of her boys. She will be missed as much as we miss Uncle Shot.

Lanora introduced me to Eva Joyce in the early '60's. She was a "Sterling" person and a person who did her best at whatever she did. Her beautiful memories will live forever in our hearts.

So many memories... I remember Eva Joy and Emma Hamm tolerating our silliness in Sunday school. (I am so thankful that they did not give up) I remember cub scout meetings in the back yard. I remember car repairs in the drive way. (I am not sure she believed we knew what we were doping). I remember her comments in the board meetings at WBCC. I remember the discussions about Supper in a Pumpkin. I remember orange peels at Christmas. I remember how my parents respected Tommy and Eva Joy. Just think of the reunion in heaven right now... O death where is your sting. Sorry I could not make the funeral, just too far. Hopefully sometime this year we can get together and visit. Ricky...

I only knew Eva Joy for a short three years but I will never forget her. We visited some. We joked with each other some. We spent some time on the phone. We lived so far apart but it did not seem so. I heard from her through others almost every day. We will miss you EJ.
