You are in our thoughts as you go through this difficult time. Joe put on a great fight for many years and was no doubt a true trooper. Most would have gave up years ago, but not Joe! I think part of this drive was his love for Debbie. Any one who knew Joe, knew he loved her without fail. We will treasure all the good times that we shared. Peace comes knowing that he is not suffering any longer.

My Sweet Friend, There is not a time in my life when I did know you. I always knew you to be a kind gentle soul. You were also very funny and the class clown. I will always cherish our friendship. You my dear friend will be greatly missed. I know you are no longer in pain and you are celebrating with all of your loved ones that went before you. I can't even imagine what it would be like to sit at the feet of our Jesus Christ. Be at peace Jody and rest, dance and rejoice in God's Grace!

I never met Joe, but I do know that he loved his wife Debbie with all his heart. They accomplished so much in their life together and will share those beautiful memories forever, together.

Joe Short, always a bright spot on my radar. It's not too many friends, that no matter how much has passed, the conversation can pick up, like you just spoke the day before. That's how it was with Joe and I. We met at age 4, in a neighbor's yard, and were friends ever since. Most notably, through our teen years and 20's, running the streets of Houston's old Northside. As the years passed by, and the miles between us grew, it was great when we got reconnected with some phone calls back a few years ago. It saddens me no end, that those phone calls are to be no more, but i do take comfort in knowing that his suffering has stopped. Rest in peace buddy, see you on the other side.
