Mattie A. Farris

I loved the stories Aunt Mattie and Mom always told about pioneering and missionary work. I know they made a lot of sacrifices but they never mentioned that. They were so positive (and funny sometimes) that it made you love the ministry.

Aunt Mattie was sickly her whole life but so vivacious on the inside she always found a way to witness, whether by phone or letter. At the nursing home she established a magazine route, planning something different for each one according to their interest. If she couldn't go she would send one of her visitors to care for her route.

I look forward to seeing Mattie when she's resurrected; young and healthy and thrilled to be working hard for Jehovah again.
