Sally Bundy

She was also the epitome of the grand matriarch and an exceptionally gracious hostess. She was a powerful force and she will be sorely missed. The Craigs send their sincere condolences to the family. Love you all!

Sally was always, warm, kind, and gracious. I am grateful for having known her.

I had a wonderful childhood and Mrs. Bundy was part of it. I rode in carpool with Jenness to school and often visited the Bundy home to play after school or for various events. Mrs. Bundy always seemed happy, positive, energetic and simply fun to me. She always had a smile, a great sense of humor and seemed interested in what I and others had to offer. I always loved visiting the Bundy home and I know Mrs. Bundy was behind all of the "fun" memories that were made there. I always loved to see the "photo wall" in their house of all their family and friends at gatherings and on vacations. She seemed to really enjoy friends, family and life in general. I am thinking of you and your family Jenness.

I have thought for hours on what to write to help fill your hearts during this time of sorrow. So I thought what better way than to share a story.

My now 22 year old son grew up on Sally's Chicken Spaghetti published in the Lagniappe Cookbook. When he was a young even boy he received a rabbit for Easter. When asked what he would name the rabbit he proclaimed "I am going to name it after that lady who gave you the recipe for my favorite food . . "Sally Bunny" ! When he said the rabbits name he even used the same diction Sally used when she introduced herself.

It quickly spread through the real estate community that I had a rabbit named after Sally. So one day I cautiously approached Sally to tell her the story that Jacob loved her chicken spaghetti so much he named his bunny after her.

Needless to say I wasn't sure how she would react. To my surprise, she grinned ear to ear and said I am so happy he likes the spaghetti. I am not sure it would pass the "healthy" test any longer! And let's hope he doesn't use the bunny to make the spaghetti!

Like yours, Sally will always hold a special place in our family's hearts.

Sally was beautiful lady and someone I enjoyed working with on different boards. She always had a smile and a warm greeting. She will be missed.

To Sally's children: I met your mother in 2008 when I was viewing real estate around Beaumont. We had many visits over several weeks - she met my husband and children as I became acquainted with her. I particularly remember her concerns for your dad, who was ill and she wanted to be careful to arrange her work schedule to be sure she was able to manage his care - I could tell the love & devotion she had for him. I also remember a beautiful family photo framed in her office. I enjoyed hearing as she told me about each of you. We actually ended up not changing homes that year, but I continued to encounter Sally in the community since then. I felt a "kindred spirit" with her and developed a feeling of deep admiration. I was totally shocked to read the newspaper and learn of her passing. I am sure that you all must be very proud to call her "Mother". She will certainly be greatly missed.

I've been soul searching for the right words and they totally escape me.....Sally you will be missed more than you can image but you greet Howard in heaven....saying that things are just perfect! We pray for the family as they mourn their (and our) loss. Organize things in heaven Sally, and we will meet you there again one day! Love, The Archibalds
